Manuscript Submission Terms
These terms apply whenever you submit a manuscript, story seed, synopsis, attachment, or any other creative material to TJH Media Publishing — whether through our submission form, the Ideation Studio, the Architect Studio, or by direct delivery to our editorial team.
1. You keep your copyright
You retain all copyright, moral rights, and other intellectual-property rights in the work you submit. Submitting a manuscript to us does not transfer ownership. The only rights you grant us are the limited rights described in Section 2 below.
2. The limited license you grant us
By submitting work to TJH, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to:
- Read, analyze, and evaluate the work for editorial, structural, and commercial purposes.
- Process the work through our AI-assisted tools, including the Ideation Studio and the Architect Studio, for the sole purpose of generating insights for you.
- Internally circulate the work among our editorial staff, contractors, and approved service providers (under confidentiality obligations) so that we can carry out the services you have requested.
- Retain a copy of the work for our records, subject to the deletion rights in Section 7.
This license does not give us the right to publish your work, sell your work, or offer it to third parties without a separate written agreement.
3. No publishing obligation
Reviewing, accepting, or providing feedback on a manuscript does not create any obligation on our part to publish, distribute, represent, or otherwise commercialize your work. Any publishing relationship is governed by a separate written agreement signed by both parties.
4. AI-assisted tools and your work
Our platform uses AI-assisted tools to generate analyses, outlines, and reports for you. When you upload a manuscript, the relevant text is sent to large-language-model providers we work with, under data-protection terms. We do not permit those providers to train public AI models on your work. We do not use your manuscript to train any model of our own.
The outputs of these tools (Opportunity Snapshots, blueprint outlines, and similar) are owned by you to use as you see fit, subject to the disclaimers on those reports and our Disclaimers page.
5. Your representations and warranties
By submitting work to us, you represent and warrant that:
- You are the sole author of the work, or you have full rights from each co-author or rights-holder to submit it.
- The work is original and does not infringe any third party's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights.
- You have the right to grant the license described in Section 2.
- The work does not contain unlawful, defamatory, or knowingly false material.
6. Confidentiality
We treat unpublished manuscripts as confidential. Our editorial staff, contractors, and approved service providers are bound by confidentiality obligations consistent with industry practice. We will not disclose your work to third parties outside the limited service-provider set described in our Privacy Policy without your written permission.
We do not, however, claim that any idea, theme, story type, character archetype, or genre framing is uniquely yours — the publishing industry routinely receives many submissions exploring similar territory.
7. Withdrawal and deletion
You may withdraw your submission and request deletion of your manuscript at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will delete the working copies of your manuscript within thirty days, subject to any reasonable record-keeping requirements (for example, retaining the fact that a submission was received and a high-level summary, but deleting the underlying text).
8. Simultaneous submissions
We accept simultaneous submissions. If your work is accepted by another publisher or you no longer want us to consider it, please let us know promptly.
9. No assurance of similarity
We routinely review many manuscripts and develop our own editorial frameworks and IP-development methodologies. If a future TJH-published title shares broad themes, settings, or genre conventions with a manuscript you submitted, that does not in itself indicate any use of your work. We will not knowingly use your specific protectable expression without a written agreement.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold TJH harmless from any third-party claim arising out of (a) a breach of your representations in Section 5, or (b) our use of your work as permitted by these terms.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Manuscript Submission Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States of America, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your home jurisdiction give you the right to bring a claim there.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your submission is the version in effect on the date you submitted it. Material changes will be highlighted with a new effective date.
